CBD is one of over 100 cannabinoids, the natural compounds found in hemp.

CBD accounts for the smooth operation of basic physiological processes taking place within the human body such as movement, memory, sleep, appetite or pain perception.

Unlike THC, CBD has no intoxicating properties while bringing a lot of health-promoting effects. Numerous laboratory studies have confirmed that CBD has anti-cancer effects, helps to fight depression, relieves inflammation, eases pain and anxiety, and these are just a few out of the whole range of beneficial features of this substance.

Thanks to its health-promoting effects, it is becoming an increasingly popular method (even among professional athletes) aimed to improve recovery.

This substance is 100% legal.

In Poland, CBD issues are regulated by the Act on counteracting drug addiction dated 29 July 2005 and the Act on reimbursement of medicines, foodstuffs intended for special nutritional purposes and medical products dated 12 May 2011, as well as the Statement made by the Chief Sanitary Inspector on 23 November 2018. The European hemp sector and its associated countries work together under the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA).

Pursuant to the EU regulation from 1997, the term: „novel foods” was introduced to include products which were not on the food market prior to 15.05.1997 and which can only be placed on the market upon being authorised by the European Commission. Pursuant to Regulation 2015/2283, hemp extracts (i.e. containing higher than natural concentration of CBD) fall into the category of novel foods.
